The problem
We build software for accountants, and the same thing comes up in every conversation: finding good clients is hard. Not any clients, the right ones. Directories, referrals and Google Ads are expensive, unreliable, or both.
Meanwhile, 5.6 million UK taxpayers overpaid HMRC in 2025/26, leaving £3.5 billion on the table at an average of £625 each. Many are self-employed: freelancers, landlords, sole traders and company directors either doing their own returns and missing things, or not engaging at all.
Two problems that belonged together. So we connected them.
What TaxReady is
A free UK tax calculator and accountant-matching tool. Someone self-employed tells us what they do and gets an estimate of their 2025/26 tax position in 30 seconds. We then match them with the best-fit local firm, based on income type, location and real Google review data. They see your name, your rating, and a prompt to get in touch.
No subscription. No cost per lead. They arrive having already thought about their tax and seen a number, so the first conversation starts halfway through.
Why it is not another lead-gen marketplace
Directories work one of two ways: you pay to appear, or you race six other firms to answer the same shared enquiry. The first rewards budget over quality. The second drives fees down and treats your firm as a commodity.
