About us

AAT, the Association of Accounting Technicians, represents accounting technicians and bookkeepers across the UK.

Formed in 1980, AAT is dedicated to raising professional standards and widening access to accountancy education and skills training. Today, it supports a community of over 137,000 people, whether they’re working in the profession or studying AAT’s Ofqual regulated qualifications, including more than 6,000 apprentices in the UK.

AAT members play a vital role in local communities, supporting over 840,000 small businesses and local authorities with practical accounting expertise and financial insight to help them grow.
